- Update * - I just spoke to a friend of mine in the national media - if we get this rolling it could be featured on a major network morning show. Wouldn't THAT be cool? Let's make it happen - for your favorite teacher when you were growing up!**
Welcome! This is the home page for The Learning Locker non-profit community built business plan. It's damn near a virgin WiKi, but I hope in a few days many of you will be helping me build a business plan for a non-profit business. Read more here: http://lagesse.org.
Look for the posts on The Learning Locker. I'll find a dedicated host for a dedicated blog in a few days.
IF you got interested enough to get this far, don't stop! Tell your friends - KEEP ME INVOLVED by staying involved. I appreciate any help you can offer!
The goal here is to write a professional business plan for a non-profit organization that doesn't yet exist. We need the business plan to solicit serious funding for a serious issue - ensuring our children have all of the tools they need to learn, and making damn sure that teachers don't have to bear the burden of making sure that happens. I am tired of watching teachers buy school supplies out of their own paychecks. It shouldn't be this way. CEOs get millions, Athletes get millions - yet in many cases out teachers are paid near the poverty level.
Let's fix this! Help me help them. Help me help your kids. Help me help their teachers. The power of many is a strong power, and together we can do what our own government can't do.
We can't stop a war, or fix the energy crisis - so let's focus on something we CAN DO!
The Introduction page for the business plan is here: http://thelearninglocker.pbwiki.com/Business%20Plan%20Page%201%20-%20Introduction
Feel free to add new pages and content as you deem appropriate. I do reserve the right to manipulate the final business plan to meet the needs of "The Learning Locker", and credit probably can't be given to everyone who has helped me with this idea (and those I hope help). But I will do my best. Besides, this isn't about you anyway. It's about your kids, or your nephews, little brothers, parents or girl/boyfriends!
